Kelsi Early
Veterinarian
Aloha! I’m Dr. Kelsi Early, and I’m so grateful to be part of the veterinary community here on Maui. With over 10 years of experience in veterinary medicine, I’m passionate about providing high-quality, compassionate care to animals while building strong, trusting relationships with the people who love them.
I earned both my Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University. I’m licensed in Texas, Florida, and Hawai‘i, and I hold certifications in Fear Free handling and RECOVER veterinary CPR. My background includes a wide range of practice settings—from small and mixed animal general practice to large animal and emergency medicine—giving me a well-rounded approach to patient care.
My professional interests include community and shelter medicine, emergency care, animal behavior, nutrition, and leadership. I believe that veterinary care works best when it’s a team effort, and I’m committed to working closely with pet parents to ensure every animal receives personalized, thoughtful care in a low-stress environment.
Originally from Weatherford, Texas, I met my husband, Dylan, during our time at Texas A&M University. After graduating, I practiced in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and later in Melbourne, Florida. We recently made the move to Maui and are truly enjoying getting to know our new island home. It’s been a joy to experience the warmth of the community, and I’m excited to give back however I can.
At home, we share our lives with three rescue pets who are part of our ‘ohana: Bailey, a sweet Golden Retriever mix; Nuggz, our mischievous black cat; and Rex, our curious gray tabby. Outside of work, I enjoy baking, reading, cheering on the Texas A&M Aggies, and exploring all the beautiful places the island has to offer.
Growing up around animals taught me early on how meaningful the bond between people and pets can be. Being a veterinarian allows me to honor that bond every day. I feel incredibly fortunate to serve this community and to help care for the animals who bring so much joy to our lives.
